For the second phase of Packer's collaborative ZX capsule with adidas Consortium, the focus remains on our surrounding environment, and, more specifically, how it can affect us. The ZX 9000 “Meadow Violet”, released earlier this week, paid tribute to New Jersey’s state flower and its tremendous ability to thrive amongst all the madness. Part 2 of the story explores the extremes of what can happen when those conditions finally push things too far.
The Packer x adidas Consortium ZX Torsion “Mega Violet” tells the story of the meadow violet’s transformation from a proud symbol of nature's beauty to a corrupted byproduct of its environment. While the gradient purple stripes remain the same from the first shoe to the second, the color palette surrounding them becomes polluted with dark, muddy tones that effectively mutate its identity from something pure and natural to something twisted and aggressive.
The “Mega Violet" comes to life through a rich combination of premium pigskin and hairy suede contrasted by black nubuck and a plum-colored mesh underlay. Outfitted with translucent outsole panels, nubuck lace dubraes and a modified heel pull-tab, the newly introduced Boost-equipped model gets some additional personalized touches by way of co-branded tongue loops and graphic-adorned insoles.
The Packer x adidas Consortium ZX Torsion “Mega Violet” ($150) will release this Saturday, October 12th, at 12 noon EST in-store at both locations and online at PackerShoes.com.
