NIKE AIR TRAINER 1 "SHIMA SHIMA" ($125)
Steeped in sneaker collector lore, the Nike Air Trainer 1 "Shima Shima," released exclusively in Asian, European, and Canadian markets in 2003, gets a welcomed rerelease here in the US. The "Shima Shima" packs from nearly 20 years ago included the Air Max 1 and Dunk Hi as well, and each had elegant pin-striping on the interior lining and obscure Shima Shima hiragana characters on the tongue, both of which appear again on this faithful retro. Three shades of brown interact across the suede upper that sits atop a speckled midsole on this classic Air Trainer 1.
